While reports and rumors connecting Jeff Lebby to the Mississippi State football program continue to swirl, Oklahoma fans aren’t too upset right now.

As Zac Selmon (a familiar face for Oklahoma Sooners fans) and the Mississippi State football program are seemingly interested in picking Oklahoma offensive coordinator Jeff Lebby to be the new head coach in Starkville, OU fans are sounding off online.

Many Oklahoma football fans are more than thrilled to share their opinions of Lebby, who has been the OC in Norman for two seasons now. While Oklahoma’s offense has thrived (and Mississippi State’s has not), the Sooners aren’t exactly happy with the way Lebby coaches. And that is clearly evident for folks who have been keeping up with them this season.

Sure, Lebby’s scheme can be enjoyable to watch and there’s a ton of stats to back up arguments that Lebby is successful, but OU fans have been consistent in their critiques of his in-game decision making and playcalling.

And it really seems like Oklahoma fans are more than willing to move on from having Lebby in the role of the Sooners’ offensive coordinator:

Oh, hey, a notable name to keep in mind whenever discussing Oklahoma athletics right now. That’s the son of OU’s AD.

And yeah, that sort of line of logic seems to be fairly consistent amongst OU football fans right now:

Now, some are willing to talk about the way his offense succeeded. And it did succeed. Lebby was able to take advantage of the abundant talent available to him in order to move down the field and score routinely in the Big 12 this season.

But yeah, there are OU fans that are just straight up thrilled to be done with Lebby right now.

To the point that they’re willing to tag Selmon, a former member of OU’s athletics department, and pretend to be a MSU fan asking for this hire to be made.

We’ll see if this is a move that works out for MSU. As for OU, they have the talent and prestige to be able to effortlessly replace Lebby and just move on without any worries in the world. Or, well, theoretically they do. We’ll see how that plays out.
