Week 10 SEC Picks and College Football Best Bets
By Evan Ertel
College football rolls on to Week 10, and just like teams trying to scratch out bowl berths, our pickers are working hard to stay above .500.
Time stops for no man, especially not for college football seasons. We are already at Week 10 of the 2023 college football season, and we have our first official snapshot of what the College Football Playoff is going to look like, with Ohio State as the top team in the country. We have some big-time matchups across the nation this week, including five SEC versus SEC bouts, two top-25 games with conference title implications, and of course, our Best Bets!
Three of our pickers went 5-3 last week, with Justin claiming low-man of the week at a 2-6 mark. John and Ryan are tied at 53%, Andrew is picking at a 47% clip, myself at 45%. Justin and Ethan are just here for a good time.
Let’s go!
Week 10 CFB Picks & Best Bets
Texas A&M @ No. 10 Ole Miss (-3) (O/U 54)
Evan Ertel: While this game does have a bit of a Look-Ahead smell to it, I just do not see the Aggies pulling off the upset in Oxford. I will say, this line seems to agree with me, and if you have the half-point hook on this one, I may be taking A&M. Ole Miss -3
Justin Strawn: As much as it pains me to say it, Ole Miss is likely headed to a 10-2 season with a potential New Year’s Six Bowl in its future. Rebels win this one rather easily. Ole Miss -3
Andrew Miller: Jimbo Fisher actually coached semi-competently against South Carolina. They went for fourth downs and he tried to get points to close out the half. And shockingly, it worked. With that said, I still don’t trust the Aggies. Kiffin has Jimbo’s number and seems to take this game seriously every year. He’ll get it done at home. Ole Miss -3
John King: As much as I hate to say it, Ole Miss has a great team this year. A&M is talented, but I don’t think they have what it takes to keep this within 3. Ole Miss -3
Ethan Lee: Ole Miss is the more complete team and this game isn’t in College Station. That will significantly impact the outcome here. Ole Miss -3
Ryan Strickland: A&M does not have the offense to keep this within 3 against Ole Miss. Ole Miss will break through on offense at some point and A&M will just not have the offensive production needed to keep this within a field goal. Ole Miss -3
