College Football Schedule Week 9: Under the Radar Games to Watch

College football season has reached Halloween weekend. What are the best under the radar games to watch as we close out this month?

It’s Week 9 of the 2023 college football season. We’re already to Halloween. There are just five weeks left of the regular season. The final push for playoff berths, conference championship appearances, top-25 finishes, and bowl eligibility begins now.

Week 8 began sorting out some of the congestion amongst the top. Ohio State topped Penn State in a slugfest. Oklahoma and Washington had to hold on for dear life against greatly inferior teams. North Carolina, meanwhile, failed to survive an upset bid from a terrible Virginia squad. USC proved to still be soft while Utah proved to still be the Pac-12’s Angel of Death.

And praise the Lord, we no longer have to ponder what our lives will be like with an 11-1, playoff-contending Iowa team after they lost at home to Minnesota.

Not much jumps off the page for Week 9. Oregon travels to Utah, so that should be exciting. Duke and Louisville is a fun game with ACC-title implications. But otherwise, the high profile matchups aren’t really there. One of the biggest things I’m looking forward to this weekend is the chance to see some snow football (Minnesota, Nebraska, and Colorado State, you are on watch).

But when there aren’t tons of great games, that makes it a perfect time to find some games that aren’t getting national buzz that could be dandies to watch. Here are three under the radar college football games to watch for Week 9…
