As the Mississippi State Bulldogs get set to face off against the Auburn Tigers, let’s catch up with some Auburn fans and get their thoughts on the game.

Maroon and White Nation’s premier investigative journalism column, “Meeting the Opponent,” is officially back! Courtesy of some lackluster coverage of Arkansas across the blogosphere, we did go silent last week, but really, maybe that is in our best interest to help forget last week’s abomination.

Joining us this week, we have our friends over at War Blogle helping us get to know the Auburn Tigers ahead of Saturday’s matchup against our beloved Mississippi State Bulldogs. You can find them on the site formerly known as Twitter at @WarBlogle.

Let’s go!

This weekend’s game for Auburn will be the Tigers’ first unranked opponent in four weeks. Do you think that comes to Auburn’s advantage, that they have been playing such stiff competition, or are they limping into this game after a couple of close ones in there that I’m sure most Tiger faithful would like to have back?

It’s definitely an advantage. You only get better by playing tough competition. Obviously, it has shown the holes in Auburn’s offense and how better teams can attack the defense, but Auburn has taken two top-15 teams to the wire at home. Auburn plays Mississippi State at home.
