Saturday afternoon, Zach Arnett’s Mississippi State football team found a way to get an important win. Now, let’s avoid overreacting.

Mississippi State was able to get a win over the Arkansas Razorbacks on Saturday thanks to a stifling defense and the fact that Arkansas simply seemed to be just as much of a mess as MSU has shown at its worst moments this season.

In a frustrating and ugly 7-3 defensive struggle, the Mississippi State Bulldogs got a must-win SEC victory. Bowl eligibility is still attainable for the Mississippi State football team. And theoretically, the offense can improve.

But, as Arnett and the Miss. State Bulldogs try to build some momentum heading into the final few games of this Mississippi State football season, it’s important to not overreact to this game.

And that could mean a few different things.

There are a ton of ways to overreact to a sloppy 7-3 win. You could try to spin zone this one and say it’s the product of an incredible defense that has finally shown up to play. You could try to say this is a gritty, blue collar win.

On the other side of it all, you could try to state that this game doesn’t change anything about where this season is headed and that MSU is absolutely doomed.

And there a dozen other ways to overreact to this one.

Let’s take a look at three big overreactions Mississippi State football fans should try to avoid following the win over the 2-6 Arkansas Razorbacks.
