We’re on to Week 8 of the 2023 college football season. What does this week have in store? Here are three under the radar games to watch.
We’re now over the hill for the 2023 college football season. We’ve reached the back-half of the regular season. It’s a bit sad that we’re already through half of this year’s games (at least for the regular season. I have no idea if that’s accurate when including bowl games, and I’m not going to check).
Although if you’re a Mississippi State fan, you’re probably ok with the idea of this season quickly coming to an end…
Week 7 brought us, for now, the unquestionable Game of the Year with Washington’s thrilling win over rival Oregon.
That game was the epitome of what makes college football special. We saw the Coach Prime-led Colorado Buffaloes blow a 29-0 lead to a terrible Stanford team on Friday night! Or maybe “we” didn’t see, considering most of us we’re in bed at that point. We even had two Hail Mary victories with both Houston and Colorado State winning in remarkable fashion.
This week we finally get to see two of the Big Ten’s heavyweights battle it out as Penn State travels to Columbus to take on the Buckeyes. We’ll see what type of encore Alabama and Tennessee have after last year’s ridiculous Third Saturday in October (I’ll just be honest and say I wouldn’t bet on this game having quite as many fireworks this year). And Utah takes on USC for a critical Pac-12 matchup.
But beyond the obvious spotlight games, here are three under the radar games to watch for Week 8 of the 2023 college football season…
