Week 7 College Football Picks and Best Bets
By Evan Ertel
As the Mississippi State football team takes a break, the staff here at Maroon and White Nation is still picking games across the SEC.
Another fantastic college football slate in front of us this weekend, one that is particularly free of Mississippi State football. How freeing! Week 7 features 6 SEC vs. SEC matchups, an awesome top-10 game betwixt PAC-12 juggernauts, and a whole lot of other great games that we are going to analyze to find the best picks on the board, just for you.
Ryan Strickland stays in the lead at 15-9-1, a very impressive 62%. Myself at 12-11-1, a meager 52%, and the rest of the team is just here for a great time. Lots of football left, though!
Let’s dive in!
Week 7 College Football Picks & Best Bets
No. 1 Georgia (-31.5) @ Vanderbilt (O/U 56)
Evan Ertel: This is another case of don’t overthink it. Georgia is in the style points portion of the season and this is their annual opportunity for it. Bulldogs roll and Kirby will start shouting at everyone about how no one believed in them or something. Georgia -31.5
Justin Strawn: Georgia did that thing last week where I questioned if they were as good as people thought and then obliterated an opponent. I’ll go with Georgia to cover a very large spread. Georgia -31.5
Andrew Miller: It’s just so many points. And I can’t help but wonder if part of the reason UGA killed Kentucky was to simply show it can step up against supposed tougher competition, which certainly doesn’t describe Vandy. But it feels dumb to bet against them now. Georgia -31.5
Ryan Strickland: If Florida can cover almost 20 points against Vandy, I believe Georgia can get 32 or more. A 52-7 type of game is very possible with how Georgia showed up last week against Kentucky. They appear to be the Georgia we all expected last week. Georgia -31.5
John King: 31.5 is a lot of points to cover, but this seems like it should be worse than the implied 44-12 score – especially after UGA put everything together last week. Georgia -31.5
Ethan Lee: Georgia. By a mile. Georgia figured out that they’ve got more talent than anyone else in the country and they figured out that means they can bully people. Georgia -31.5
