No. 12 Oklahoma vs No. 3 Texas (-6.5) (O/U 60)

Evan Ertel: The Alabama win has aged poorly, but I do think this is the year Texas finally breaks through to the College Football Playoff. They’re not getting there by losing this game, but that’s not to say I think they do it by a touchdown here. Oklahoma +6.5

Justin Strawn: Texas has been great, but Oklahoma has flown under the radar. Texas wins but Oklahoma covers. Oklahoma +6.5

Ethan Lee: Rivalry games are weird. Pretty much forever and always. And this feels like a game that could be all sorts of bizarre and chaotic. We’re going to find out a lot about both of these teams. OU hasn’t really been tested yet and we’ve seen Texas perform at a high level when talking on a talented team. It feels like the safe bet is Texas, but I might regret picking them to cover because I have a weird feeling about this game. Texas -6.5

John King: I’ll keep this one simple — I don’t think OU is nearly as good as people think they are. I think Texas will win this game and solidify themselves as the Big XII favorite. Texas -6.5

Andrew Miller: OU is getting very little attention for a 5-0 blue-blood team. Their defense is vastly improved, and they’ve got gaudy offense stats. But they also had mediocre scoring games against the better teams they’ve played. And I am all in on Texas being a legit contender this year. I think this is a good game, but I’ll take the Horns by a TD. Texas -6.5

Ryan Strickland: Texas is bigger and stronger up front than Oklahoma. Oklahoma has taken a good bit to get it going against decent to good competition this season. I think this is Texas’ game to show they belong where they are in the rankings and they will do just that. Texas -6.5
