LOW EXPECTATIONS – More of the same for Miss. State

If you watched the State game last weekend, you’re probably starting off here. I really don’t even need to say anything. If everything goes like it did last week, we’ll see more of the same from our Bulldogs and get blown to smithereens.

But I’ve already said that South Carolina isn’t as good as LSU. And they aren’t. Buuut they do have an experienced QB like LSU. And while Malik Nabers leads the SEC in receiving at LSU, South Carolina has the second leading receiver in the conference with Xavier Legette. If you can’t force the SC offense into early mistakes, they can make you pay all night long. And Legette is massive, so even avoiding the mistake of guarding him with a safety might not help much. The dude is a master at contested catches.

While the Gamecock defense is not super formidable, it might not matter if the Mississippi State offense from last week shows up in Columbia. It’s not completely out of the question that the Bulldog offense is broken beyond repair. Expectations will always be low following a passing performance that was our worst since #alwaysrunneverpass era.

If the Gamecock offense gets momentum and our offense decides to continue its 3-and-out fest, we could be hitting the turnstiles early in Columbia. The game could really be over before “Sandstorm” even plays.
