It’s early, but we’ve got some college football bowl projections. And that includes a few Mississippi State bowl projections after week 1 of the 2023 season.

Yes, the college football season is off to a fascinating start. And yes, it’s still very early. But, well, we’ve already got bowl predictions. The experts who chat about college football for a living are already making estimates and guesses and guesstimations about where each team will end up and what bowl game they’ll play in.

We’ve got college football bowl projections and such.

Here’s where the experts are predicting that the Mississippi State Bulldogs could land in various different bowl games.

College football bowl projections, week 1: Where is Mississippi State football?

Let’s start with a couple of bowl projections from ESPN.

ESPN college football bowl predictions week 1: Here’s where the Worldwide Leader in Sports has Mississippi State football

We get two bowl predictions here.

That’s right, the folks over at the self-proclaimed worldwide leader in sports have provided us with two different college football bowl projections for us to take a gander at. Mark Schlabach and Kyle Bonagura have made their predictions following the conclusion of week one and here is where the Mississippi State Bulldogs will definitely end up.

Here are the ESPN college football bowl projections after week one:

  • Bonagura: Duke’s Mayo Bowl – Mississippi State vs. Syracuse
  • Schlabach: AutoZone Liberty Bowl – Mississippi State vs. Texas Tech

The Mayo Bowl wouldn’t be a bad place to land for the Mississippi State football team and that particular match up would be pretty interesting to see.

The Liberty Bowl doesn’t seem as likely a destination for the Bulldogs and, I’m not sure if Schlabach remembers, but Mississippi State very recently played the Red Raiders in Memphis. I don’t fault him if he doesn’t remember, I’m doing my best to forget that game as well. A rematch would be nice, but not there.

CBS college football bowl projection after week 1

Jerry Palm doesn’t seem to have a ton of confidence in Mississippi State this season. His predicted bowl landing spot for the Bulldogs isn’t something that Miss. State football fans are going to love all that much. Here’s the CBS bowl predictions following week one:

  • Palm: Birmingham Bowl – Mississippi State vs. Minnesota

I’m interested in seeing MSU play Minnesota, but not like that.

USA Today bowl prediction after week 1

And now let’s wrap this up with a bowl prediction from Erick Smith over at USA Today. The destination, also not great, but the opponent is actually pretty interesting. It’s not Minnesota, but it could still be an intriguing bowl match up. Here’s the USA Today Mississippi State bowl prediction following week one of the season:

  • Smith: Birmingham Bowl – Mississippi State vs. SMU

Some of these bowl destinations are far from ideal, but they are certainly still interesting. And playing in a bowl game is better than sitting at home on a couch. I would be intrigued by match ups with Minnesota and SMU, even if the destination isn’t all that grand.
