Former Mississippi State football coach Dan Mullen will be in Starkville for the Egg Bowl and now MSU football fans are sharing their thoughts.
The 2023 Egg Bowl is going to be must watch TV. Well, maybe. Okay, so, it’s maybe watch TV. Whether or not you watch it partially depends on how much you value your emotional well being because the game is bizarre and emotionally draining always. It also depends on your thoughts of former Mississippi State football coach Dan Mullen.
There are a number of Mississippi State football fans who love the former Bulldogs coach and are really interested in trolling the Ole Miss Rebels (and their fans). And ESPN has found a way to do just that.
Though it may have been done unintentionally.
You see, if you like Dan Mullen, and you like the Egg Bowl, then you should watch this year’s edition of the bizarre game to see the former Bulldogs’ head coach be part of the broadcast crew for the Battle for the Golden Egg.
Mississippi State football fans sound off as Dan Mullen says he’s part of the broadcast crew for the 2023 Egg Bowl
That’s right!
If you want to see Mullen talk about Mississippi State AND Ole Miss for several hours, get your TV tuned to the Egg Bowl because ESPN has put Mullen on the broadcast crew to call the Egg Bowl. This is going to be so incredibly chaotic and fun.
I’m not sure there’s a way to make this rivalry any more bizarre or exciting.

Mullen was an instrumental figure in stirring the Egg Bowl up a bit and ramping the rivalry stakes up. He put a heavy emphasis on the game each and every year and the former Bulldogs’ head coach found plenty of ways to aggravate Ole Miss fans.
This is going to be a thrill. (Here’s to hoping that the Bulldogs win AND we get to see Mullen talk about that).
