Mississippi State football fans sound off on win over Southeastern Louisiana
By Ethan Lee
After the Mississippi State Bulldogs beat the Southeastern Louisiana Lions, Mississippi State football fans had a lot of thoughts.
The 2023 Mississippi State football season has begun and the Mississippi State Bulldogs frustrated their fans a bit. Though the Bulldogs won big, they struggled for a considerable and concerning amount of time against the Southeastern Louisiana Lions.
Zach Arnett was able to record his second win after taking over as the head coach of the Miss. State football program and he was able to earn his first win in Starkville. Getting a 41-point victory to start 2023 sure is big for MSU, but that doesn’t mean there weren’t moments that weren’t concerning for MS State football fans.

And so, as with everything folks have thoughts. And Mississippi State football fans definitely have thoughts on this win.
Thankfully, MSU fans are more than willing to share their opinions and start a discussion on the matter. So, let’s chat and share some thoughts on how the Bulldogs are doing after their first win of the season.
But let’s do it in seven or fewer words.
The first half wasn’t exactly great. The offense was disjointed. The defense looked vulnerable. Things weren’t great!
Well, this might be true! Or it might not. Hard to tell right now. Also, do gifs count against word counts? What’s the ruling here?
The second half was a bit better though. And MSU fans should keep that in mind when evaluating things fully. Maybe Arnett and his Mississippi State Bulldogs have done some soul searching and found the answers they need?
Oh, and by the way, folks are REALLY interested in the quarterback dynamic for the Bulldogs going forward.
Shotgun triple option?! I can break out the copy of the 2013 Auburn offensive playbook (one of a few perfect offenses that exist) that I have saved. We can make a few adjustments here and there and go wreak havoc on the SEC. It’d be fun! A drastic change from the Air Raid (another perfect offense that exists), but still fun.
The Bulldogs have some things to work on. We didn’t see the most flawed product ever, but this particular Mississippi State football team has some work to do. Here’s to hoping that those issues get addressed sooner rather than later. Arizona could present some unique and terrifying challenges for MSU.
