  • No. 19 Alabama Crimson Tide
  • No. 20 Mississippi State Bulldogs

The Bulldogs finished last season at 21-13 overall and 8-10 against SEC foes. MSU was an impressive 12-4 at home while going 4-6 in road contests and then 5-3 in neutral site match ups. State ended up making it into the First Four games of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament.

In the NCAA Tournament, MSU fell to the Pittsburgh Panthers in a nail-biting and heartbreaking contest.
