Let’s go over a few more questions about the 2023 Mississippi State football team as the Bulldogs get set to face Southeastern Louisiana to start the year.

Now it’s time to just ask nine more questions that are very miscellaneous and touch on a variety of different topics. Because, well, there are nine more questions that I would like to ask about the Bulldogs heading into this season.

1. Will Mississippi State’s defense look any different with Matt Brock as the defensive coordinator?
2. Will Mississippi State’s remodeled secondary work out?
3. How will the Mississippi State football program honor Mike Leach during the season?
4. Will field goal kicking be uneventful and pleasant this season?
5. Is Mississippi State the most overlooked team in the SEC going into this season?
6. Can Mississippi State surpass the seemingly low outside expectations placed on the program?
7. What do realistic expectations even look like for MSU in 2023?
8. Can Mississippi State be the SEC’s most surprising team in 2023?
9. What will Zach Arnett’s first season as head coach look like?

A lot of people just assume that the defense will be 100 percent the same as it was a season ago simply because Zach Arnett is still around and still coaching and everything is fine. But, well, there were a lot of changes on that side of the ball too, just like there were a number of changes on offense.

The 2023 Mississippi State football team technically has a first year defensive coordinator. Matt Brock is now leading that side of the ball.

So, what does that look like for the Bulldogs? Will Brock shift up things a bit as he adjusts to his new position? Will we see a heavy emphasis on blitzing as the Bulldogs try to account for some of the roster changes?

How will the Bulldogs honor Mike Leach throughout the season? Winning would be a nice way to do that, but beyond just this game and the tribute following the first quarter, will we see any special gestures?

And expectations. Nobody seems to have a full concept of what realistic expectations should look like for the Bulldogs. Not me, not you, not the media, not the State adjacent media. There’s a lot of new and a lot of changes and what do realistic expectations look like?
