There’s a long history of excellence with LSU football. They’ve won a few national titles and happen to be among the most successful programs in the SEC.
By no stretch of the imagination is this program an underdog (even if their fans like to pretend otherwise from time to time), but it is worth noting that some of LSU’s championship history is all a bit more recent than some other SEC teams like Alabama.
That said, LSU has an incredibly supportive fanbase and they’ll pack Tiger Stadium with over 100,000 fans on a fairly regular basis.
LSU is a blue blood. They’re a successful team. They win a lot. And they’ve got a ton of resources at their disposal. That makes them dangerous each and every year and that certainly includes this year.
