With Justin Parker taking over as the pitching coach for Mississippi State baseball, some MSU fans are pretty thrilled about the hire.

Chris Lemonis has officially found his new pitching coach. Justin Parker will be leaving Columbia, South Carolina and the South Carolina Gamecocks as he heads to Starkville, Mississippi to help Lemonis get the Mississippi State baseball program moving in the right direction once more.

This is big news for the Bulldogs and of course Mississippi State baseball fans have big opinions on the matter.

After all, this is potentially the first step in the right direction for the MSU Bulldogs getting right back on track. And college baseball has a lot of fans in Starkville, Mississippi.

And here’s what MSU baseball fans had to say about their new pitching coach:

This hiring process unfortunately took a little while, but Mississippi State has its man in Parker.

And so, that’s plenty of reason to celebrate.

While it remains to be seen just how much Mississippi State is “back,” the Bulldogs now have a very real shot at solving some of their biggest issues thanks to the addition of Parker to this coaching staff.

And of course, when presented with the opportunity, you absolutely must ask Kendall Rogers if Mississippi State is on track to host. It’s a must. You have to do it.

Tangentially related, the Bulldogs are trying to get back to relevance. It’s been a rough two years for a program that proclaims itself to be one of the best in all of college baseball. Mississippi State, after winning a national title, has seemingly imploded.

Making this sort of hire and bringing one of the best pitching coaches in the country to Starkville should enable Mississippi State to have more success next season.

Simply hiring Parker won’t fix all of the problems that the Mississippi State baseball program has, but it’s a huge step in the right direction and should certainly give MSU baseball fans something to be happy with after a remarkably rough season.
