Mississippi State football: 5 easiest games for Bulldogs in 2023
By Ethan Lee
No. 2: Mississippi State football vs. Western Michigan Broncos
The Western Michigan Broncos had exactly zero fun last season as they only managed to go 5-7 on the year (and that’s largely why they ended up hiring a new coach to lead them going forward). Now, Western Michigan enters into 2023 with Lance Taylor leading things and the Broncos are hoping for some more success under his guidance.
There’s a good chance that this could work out for them down the road, but it’s hard, right now, to see the Broncos significantly improving in enough ways to overcome a talent differential like the one that exists between Western Michigan and Mississippi State.
And while some will point out that this contest comes at the end of a rather difficult stretch for the Bulldogs (and they’d be right), it’s worth noting that things won’t be easy for Western Michigan during their first few games.
This match up comes as the fourth road game in five weeks for Western Michigan. The Broncos play at Syracuse on Sept. 9, go to Iowa on Sept. 16, travel to Toledo on Sept. 23, return home to face Ball State on Sept. 30, and then arrive in Starkville for this contest on Oct. 7.
That’s BRUTAL. Expect the Bulldogs to have plenty of success in this game against Western Michigan.
