SEC football preseason hot seat rankings: Pressure is Mounting

Eli Drinkwitz – Missouri

Drinkwitz parlayed a 12-win season at App State in 2019 into an SEC gig. But he’s yet to match that success at Missouri, finishing under .500 each of his three years in Columbia. Mizzou isn’t an easy job, but Tiger fans expect more. His time could be running out if he doesn’t show improvement this year.

Billy Napier – Florida

Napier was fairly blunt about tempering expectations when he took over the Gators last year. But a losing season with a top-5 pick at QB while rival UGA is taking over the sport and FSU is ascending has patience waning. The Athletic recently explored what’s caused Florida to fall behind, and it’s fair to say that Napier should be given time to build it back up. But if Florida struggles again in 2023, will that time be granted?
