The Mississippi State Football team will take on another exciting season this fall.

The Mississippi State Bulldogs have a first-year head coach in Zach Arnett after the sudden passing of Mike Leach.

Many Bulldog fans believe Zach Arnett can continue Mike Leach’s momentum and get the job done for the Bulldogs in year one as the head coach.

How can Zach Arnett pick up where Mike Leach left off? Well, winning solves everything right? I know it solves most problems.

Let’s take a deeper look at game three as Mississippi State faces off against the LSU Tigers.

September 16: LSU Tigers at Mississippi State Football – W

In Maroon and White Nation’s latest 2023 Mississippi State Football predictions article, I predicted the Bulldogs to defeat the LSU Tigers, 27-21.

This could be one rowdy game at Davis Wade Stadium in Week 3.

I could see this game going either way, but I like the home-field advantage for the Bulldogs.

The Mississippi State Bulldogs have started making the LSU game interesting every year, but they still have not gotten over the hump where they can win this game consistently.

What’s different about this year’s game? LSU is coming in with a bit more confidence after finishing the 2022 college football season as the SEC West Champions.

Does that really matter? Not really. I expect the Bulldogs to be ready to play on September 16th, and I see the Bulldogs winning.

I know it’s not necessarily normal to pick Mississippi State to defeat the reigning SEC West Champions, but with it being early in the season I think that helps.

Catching the LSU Tigers early might just be what Mississippi State needs to kickstart their 2023 college football season.

Last year, Mississippi State caught the Tigers early and nearly pulled off the upset in Death Valley.

Give me the Bulldogs to win straight up in Davis Wade Stadium this year.
