Mississippi State Bulldogs men’s basketball team makes the NCAA Tournament.
On Selection Sunday, the Mississippi State Bulldogs men’s basketball team found themselves in the midst of the 68 teams who make the NCAA Tournament. The Mississippi State men’s basketball team has not been included in the Big Dance since 2019 when they lost in the first round. The Bulldogs hope to change that this week as they face off against the Pittsburgh Panthers on Wednesday night in a “last-four-in game.” If the Bulldogs win, they will be the No. 11 seed that faces off against the No. 6 seed Iowa State Cyclones.
Not only is it a huge deal to make the NCAA Tournament because the Mississippi State basketball program has a first-year head coach, but it is always a big deal whenever your team makes it into the Big Dance. The Mississippi State Bulldogs will have a shot at a national title, and that is always fun to think about.
The Mississippi State basketball team will face off against the Pittsburgh Panthers on Tuesday, March 14th at 8:10 p.m. CT/9:10 p.m. ET in Dayton, Ohio.
Mississippi State Bulldogs women’s basketball team makes the NCAA Tournament.
Coincidentally, the Mississippi State Bulldogs women’s basketball team is in a similar situation. Sam Purcell and the Lady Bulldogs made it into the NCAA Tournament as one of the last four teams in the tournament. The Lady Bulldogs will also be playing for a spot to be the No. 11 seed that will face off against the No. 6 seed Creighton Bluejays. The Lady Bulldogs will face off against the Illinois Fighting Illini on Wednesday, March 15th at 6:00 p.m. CT/7:00 p.m. ET.
