The Mississippi State basketball team defeated the Missouri Tigers, 63-52.

The Mississippi State basketball took control of this game from the tip-off. The Mississippi State Bulldogs never lost the lead in today’s SEC basketball matchup.

Here are my early post-game thoughts:

The Mississippi State basketball team is on a three-game winning streak.

Mississippi State Basketball has defeated No. 11 TCU, the South Carolina Gamecocks in a game they should have won, and another upset win over the Missouri Tigers.

After starting SEC play 1-7, this is a massive momentum booster for Chris Jans and the Mississippi State Bulldogs.

Tolu Smith dominated the Missouri Tigers.

Tolu Smith led the Mississippi State basketball team in scoring tonight. Smith finished with 12 rebounds, 2 assists, and 25 points. The Missouri Tigers did not have an answer for Smith since this game tipped off. If teams can’t guard Tolu, the Bulldogs have a really good shot of winning that game.

P.S. Tolu Smith is getting better at shooting free throws.

Another great night for the Humphrey Coliseum.

The crowd played a factor in tonight’s upset win over the Missouri Tigers. The Hump has begun to play more and more of a factor in home basketball games. The students are starting to show up, and more tickets are starting to sell. If you are not bought in yet, it is time to start believing in Chris Jans and the Bulldogs. Great job, students and fans.

The Mississippi State Bulldogs looked like a tournament basketball team tonight.

When I was watching tonight’s SEC basketball matchup vs. the Missouri Tigers, I realized this team can compete with anyone in the country. They have proven they can compete with the best of the best whenever they took the Tennessee Volunteers and the Alabama Crimson Tide down to the wire. Tonight, the Bulldogs were able to finish the game out, and that was something they struggled to do at the beginning of SEC play.
