Mississippi State Bulldogs set their eyes on Arkansas’ offensive coordinator.

The Mississippi State Bulldogs finished the 2022 college football season 9-4 with wins over Memphis, Arizona, Bowling Green, Texas A&M, Arkansas, Auburn, East Tennessee State, Ole Miss, and a ReliaQuest Bowl victory over the Illinois Fighting Illini.

Tragically, the Bulldogs lost their head coach, Mike Leach, at the end of the 2022 season due to heart complications. The bowl game was coached by the defensive coordinator, Zach Arnett, who would later be hired as the Mississippi State football head coach.

Zach Arnett has been tasked with putting together a coaching staff since he is now the CEO of the Mississippi State football program. Obviously, Arnett is going to have his hands in the defense, but everyone is wondering, who will Arnett bring in as the offensive coordinator? Well, there are some rumors floating around.

The number one name that I am hearing for Mississippi State football’s offensive coordinator is Kendal Briles. Briles is currently the offensive coordinator for the Arkansas Razorbacks. He led the Razorbacks to finish with the No. 16 offense in the country and No. 5 in the SEC.

I expect there to be a decision made for Mississippi State football’s offensive coordinator by the end of this week. Possibly, as early as this afternoon.

Mississippi State Basketball struggles in first SEC road game.

All in all, nothing went right for the Mississippi State Bulldogs last night vs. the Tennessee Volunteers. From the opening tip-off, the Bulldogs looked sluggish on defense, and the Tennessee Volunteers were fired up. The Volunteers opened up the game on a 16-0 run. Mississippi State could not find a basket in the opening minutes of last night’s SEC matchup.

What is next for Mississippi State Basketball?

The Mississippi State Bulldogs will take on the Ole Miss Rebels on Saturday, January 7th at the Humphrey Coliseum. This game will be huge for the Bulldogs to get back on track, and find their first SEC win against their in-state rival.
