Winning this game was huge for this coaching staff and players after the passing of Mississippi State Bulldogs football head coach, Mike Leach. This win was a great way to pay tribute to Michael Charles Leach.

Secondly, winning this game was huge for momentum. Mississippi State football has not won 9 games since 2017. The 2023 Mississippi State football season will be one of the most anticipated college football seasons in history. Zach Arnett will have his work cut out for him this off-season.

College football teams continue to honor former Mississippi State Bulldogs head coach, Mike Leach.

In yesterday’s ReliaQuest Bowl, the Mississippi State football team had the opportunity to honor Coach Mike Leach. First, they unveiled new helmets with a pirate on one side. Secondly, they took a delay of game in the first play from scrimmage, and Illinois declined the penalty. Lastly, the Bulldogs put one extra touchdown in the endzone on the final play of the game.
