The Mississippi State basketball team is back on the road and headed to take on the Tennessee Volunteers at 6:00 p.m. CT/7:00 p.m. ET. After losing their first SEC game of the season vs. the Alabama Crimson Tide, the Mississippi State Bulldogs are looking to get back in the win column. The matchup between the Bulldogs and the Volunteers will be played at the Thompson-Boling Arena in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Here are some notes that you need to know before watching tonight’s game:

This will be Mississippi State basketball’s second top-25 SEC matchup of the 2022-2023 season.

The Mississippi State basketball team has had one of its best starts in school history, but the Bulldogs had their work cut out for them vs. the Alabama Crimson Tide. Despite the loss, Mississippi State basketball is still on the rise. A win over Tennessee, on the road, would put the Bulldogs back in the conversation for one of the best SEC basketball teams.

The Mississippi State Bulldogs are 11-2.

The Mississippi State Bulldogs have only lost two games this 2022-2023 college basketball season. Playing 13 games and only losing 2 is a difficult task. Chris Jans and the Bulldogs believe they are a top-25 team even though they fell out of the latest Associated Press Top 25 rankings.

The Mississippi State basketball team will be right back in the AP Top 25 rankings with a win tonight.

The Tennessee Volunteers are ranked No. 8 in the country going into tonight’s SEC matchup. If the Bulldogs were to pull off the upset, they would be put right back into the Associated Press Top 25 rankings.

You might be asking yourself, “How can I watch today’s Mississippi State game?” I have great news. Every week, there will be an article solely dedicated to giving you the links to the Mississippi State game of the week.
