College football teams around the country continue to honor former Mississippi State Bulldogs’ football coach, Mike Leach.
Bowl season has kicked off to a great start. One of the reasons it has been so great is watching college football teams honor Mississippi State Bulldogs’ football coach, Mike Leach.
I expected SEC schools to honor Mike Leach, but I did not expect team after team after team continues to honor Coach Mike Leach.
The coolest thing happened on Wednesday night whenever the Texas Tech Red Raiders faced off against the Ole Miss Rebels in Texas Bowl.
At the start of Texas Tech’s first offensive possession, the Red Raiders lined up in the Air Raid formation and took a delay of game penalty to honor Mike Leach. Lane Kiffin and the Ole Miss Rebels declined the penalty, and Mike Leach was honored during the Texas Bowl.
Yesterday, UCLA coach, Chip Kelly, honored Mike Leach by wearing a pirate flag on his UCLA visor.
The College Football Playoff kicks off today.
The Georgia Bulldogs, Michigan Wolverines, TCU Horned Frogs, and Ohio State Buckeyes will play in the College Football Playoff today. The No. 2 seed, Michigan Wolverines, will face off against the No. 3 seed, TCU Horned Frogs in the Fiesta Bowl at 3:00 p.m. CT/4:00 p.m. ET. The No. 1 seed, Georgia Bulldogs, will face off against the No. 4 seed, Ohio State Buckeyes in the Peach Bowl at 7:00 p.m. CT/8:00 p.m. ET.
The Mississippi State Bulldogs play in the ReliaQuest Bowl on Monday, January 2nd.
The Mississippi State Bulldogs football team will play the Illinois Fighting Illini in the ReliaQuest Bowl on January 2nd at 11:00 a.m. CT/12:00 p.m. ET.
The Mississippi State Bulldogs finished the season 8-4 with wins over Memphis, Arizona, Bowling Green, Texas A&M, Arkansas, Auburn, East Tennessee State, and Ole Miss. The Bulldogs’ four losses were vs. LSU, Kentucky, Alabama, and Georgia.
The Illinois Fighting Illini also finished the year 8-4. The Fighting Illini found their wins vs. Wyoming, Virginia, Chattanooga, Wisconsin, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, and Northwestern. Their losses were vs. Indiana, Michigan State, Purdue, and Michigan.
Both teams are looking to finish the season with a ReliaQuest Bowl trophy and nine wins in the 2022 college football season.
