The Mississippi State basketball team is back in Starkville, Mississippi to take on the Alabama Crimson Tide at 8:00 p.m. CT/9:00 p.m. ET. After going on the road and losing their first game of the season vs. the Drake Bulldogs, the Mississippi State Bulldogs are back at home. The matchup between the Bulldogs and the Crimson Tide will be played at the Humphrey Coliseum in Starkville, Mississippi.

Here are some notes that you need to know before watching Saturday’s game:

This will be Mississippi State basketball’s first SEC game of the 2022-2023 season.

The Mississippi State basketball team has had one of its best starts in school history, but the Bulldogs are going to have their work cut off for them tonight night vs. one of the best SEC basketball teams in the country, the Alabama Crimson Tide.

The Mississippi State Bulldogs have not played the same level of opponents as the Alabama Crimson Tide. With the Crimson Tide only losing 2 of their 12 games, I would say Alabama has a slight advantage. I do think having this game at the Humphrey Coliseum in Starkville, Mississippi will make a huge difference in the outcome of this basketball game.

The Mississippi State Bulldogs are 11-1 and ranked No. 21.

Tonight’s SEC matchup between the Mississippi State Bulldogs and the Alabama Crimson Tide will be an AP Top 25 matchup. The Bulldogs are now ranked No. 21 in the AP top 25 poll, and the Crimson Tide are No. 8 in the latest rankings.

The Mississippi State basketball defense will be the difference if the Bulldogs can come away with a win tonight.

The Mississippi State Bulldogs have not allowed a single team to score more than 66 points in a game this season. The most points scored on the Mississippi State basketball team was vs. the Nicholls State Colonels when the Bulldogs won, 68-66.

You might be asking yourself, “How can I watch today’s Mississippi State game?” I have great news. Every week, there will be an article solely dedicated to giving you the links to the Mississippi State game of the week.
