Mississippi State Football: Get to know Zach Arnett
By Landon Young
Mississippi State football head coach, Zach Arnett has taken the reigns of the football program.
Mississippi State football hired its 35th head coach after the tragic passing of head coach, Mike Leach. Former defensive coordinator for the Bulldogs, Zach Arnett was chosen to become the new head football coach for the Mississippi State football program.
Zach Arnett is a one-of-a-kind coach, but not exactly in the same way as Mike Leach.
The words you could use to describe the new head football coach would be words like terrifying, intense, high-energy, scary, and most of all… Bulldog. Zach Arnett is a Mississippi State Bulldog through and through, but he has only been a part of this program since 2020 when Mike Leach brought him over to Starkville, Mississippi.
So, why is Zach Arnett a Bulldog through and through? Well, because he loves this program. He understands all that Mississippi State has done for him. He instantly became a part of the Mississippi State Bulldog family, and I do not see him leaving any time soon.
Zach Arnett just finished Early Signing Day with one of the best recruiting classes that Mississippi State Football has ever seen.
Zach Arnett and the Mississippi State football staff did a great job of keeping Mississippi players in the state of Mississippi. Zach Arnett and his team of coaches did a great job with this 2023 Early Signing Day class considering the passing of head coach, Mike Leach, just a few days before signing day. If Early Signing Day is any indication of how Arnett and the crew will be over the next four years, I would say Bulldog fans are in for a fun ride.
It was easy to see the appreciation Coach Zach Arnett had for Mike Leach and Mississippi State whenever he was interviewed by the SEC Network crew.
