Mississippi State Football Head coach, Mike Leach, passed away at 61 due to heart complications on December 12, 2022.
First, we at Maroon and White Nation want the Leach family to know that our thoughts and prayers are with them. Sharon, Cody, Kiersten, Kim, and Janeen Leach, we are praying for your family during this difficult season.
Coach Mike Leach will go down in history as one of the greatest college football coaches to ever coach the game, and it was not only due to his coaching ability. Many fans around the country will remember Mike Leach as one of the most eccentric people to ever watch, see, or meet. His post-game interviews will go down in history as he would talk about anything but football. Whether he was talking about dinosaurs and how small their hands were, which Pac-12 mascot would win in a brawl, his despise over candy corn, or even players with their girlfriends. No matter the topic, college football fans around the country wanted to see what Mike Leach would have to say in a post-game press conference.
Today is a day of honor. Mississippi State Bulldogs, Texas Tech Red Raiders, Washington State Cougars, and many more fans around the country will gather at the Humphrey Coliseum today to recognize one of the legends of college football. Mike Leach, you will be missed.
Mike Leach’s memorial service will be aired on SEC Network and SEC Network+. Not only will fans, coaches, and players from around the country attend today’s memorial service, but thousands will tune in to SEC Network to remember the life of Michael Charles Leach.
