After a long week of finals, practice, and watching a whole bunch of action across the SEC, the Bulldogs are set for their first true road test as they head to the Twin Cities to take on Minnesota. As I noted last week, this game is a milestone for Chris Jans. Sunday’s game will be Jans’ first Power 5 road game since 2019. No matter the KenPom rankings or what the stats say, the last thing we all want to see tonight is a team that comes out sleepwalking against a should-be win. Taking care of business in these games is what the committee will be looking for come March.

Sunday’s contest versus the Golden Gophers means that the Dawgs will be down to only three more games before opening the conference slate against an Alabama squad that just beat the number-one team in the nation on the road. National college basketball reporters are starting to take note of the Bulldogs’ dynamic defense, and that is sure to mean that team scouts are weeks ahead in viewing the film and looking for ways to attack that defense. Thriving by dominating the boards and forcing bad shots has been the recipe so far, time to take care of business again and stay the SEC’s lone undefeated team.

MSU at Minnesota can be seen tonight on the Big Ten Network at 7:30 pm CST from Williams Arena in Minneapolis, MN.
