Former Mississippi State football leading wide receiver, Rara Thomas, has been offered by the Ole Miss Rebels.

The former leading wide receiver for the 2022 Mississippi State football team, Rara Thomas, entered the transfer portal late last week.

Originally, this was a bit of a hit to the gut as things had to started to line up well for the 2023 Mississippi State Bulldogs. The same week Thomas entered the transfer portal, Jett Johnson, Bookie Watson, Jaden Crumedy, and Nathan Pickering all announced they would be returning to Mississippi State to play another year of Mississippi State football.

After Rara Thomas entered the transfer portal, it seemed that it opened the doors for many others amongst the Mississippi State football team to start making their move toward the portal.

Duncan (defensive back) hit the portal not long after Thomas declared for the transfer portal. Also, there are rumors floating around about both of Mississippi State football’s running backs, Woody Marks and Dillon Johnson, entering the transfer portal soon.

Here is the deal… this is becoming the new normal for college football and whether you like it or not, the transfer portal is here to stay. Every year Mississippi State football is going to have multiple players enter the transfer portal looking to excel elsewhere, and that is okay. As fans, it is time to get used to it and wish those players the best of luck.

Wishing your team’s former players the best of luck is easier said than done whenever they are potentially going to play for your team’s in-state rival. The Ole Miss Rebels have offered Rara Thomas a scholarship to come and play football in Oxford, Mississippi (the place where the student section threw trash at the player I’m writing about). I would say there is a great chance that Rara Thomas could end up at Ole Miss next year, but Thomas has also been offered by the Georgia Bulldogs.
