The Mississippi State basketball team is 8-0 and ranked in the AP top 25 for the first time since 2019.

The Mississippi State basketball team is ranked No. 23 in the Associated Press top 25 men’s basketball poll.

The Mississippi State Bulldogs are 8-0 in the 2022-2023 season with wins over the Texas A&M Corpus-Christi Islanders, Akron Zips, Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions, South Dakota Coyotes, Marquette Golden Eagles, Utah Utes, Omaha Mavericks, and Mississippi Valley Delta Devils.

The Bulldogs are one of twelve teams left in NCAA basketball that are undefeated. The other eleven teams are the Houston Cougars, Virginia Cavaliers, Connecticut Huskies, Auburn Tigers, Maryland Terps, Missouri Tigers, New Mexico Lobos, Utah State Aggies, Texas Longhorns, Purdue Boilermakers, and UNLV Rebels.

The Mississippi State basketball team is on a roll at this point during the season (especially defensively), but the Bulldogs will head up north to take on their first Big 10 opponent of the season the Minnesota Golden Gophers. Although it is a Big 10 opponent, the Bulldogs will be the favorite to win this SEC/Big 10 matchup.

The Mississippi State Bulldogs have an opportunity to close out the non-conference schedule undefeated. It will not be an easy task, but MSU head coach, Chris Jans, is ready for the challenge.

SEC play will kick off strong with a matchup vs. the Alabama Crimson Tide on December 29th in Starkville, Mississippi. The Alabama Crimson Tide basketball team is currently ranked No. 8 in the Associated Press top 25 poll.

It has been a long time since Mississippi State basketball fans were this excited, and I think this is just the beginning of the excitement Chris Jans is bringing back to MSU basketball. We are watching players look our head coach in the eyes when he is talking to them, players readjusting mid-game, and most importantly, playing rock-solid defense.
