The Mississippi State football team might just do something special in the 2023 football season.

I know we (Mississippi State fans) say this nearly every offseason after we in the Egg Bowl, but whenever I look at the 2023 Mississippi State football schedule, I start to ask myself, “Could the Bulldogs do something special this 2023 season?”

Take a look at the Mississippi State football 2023 schedule:

Sept. 2: Southeastern Louisiana Lions at Mississippi State Bulldogs

Sept. 9: Arizona Wildcats at Mississippi State Bulldogs

Sept. 16: LSU Tigers at Mississippi State Bulldogs

Sept. 23: Mississippi State Bulldogs at South Carolina Gamecocks

Sept. 30: Alabama Crimson Tide at Mississippi State Bulldogs

Oct. 7: Western Michigan Broncos at Mississippi State Bulldogs

Oct. 21: Mississippi State Bulldogs at Arkansas Razorbacks

Oct. 28: Mississippi State Bulldogs at Auburn Tigers

Nov. 4: Kentucky Wildcats at Mississippi State Bulldogs

Nov. 11: Mississippi State Bulldogs at Texas A&M Aggies

Nov. 18: Southern Mississippi Eagles at Mississippi State Bulldogs

Nov. 23: Ole Miss Rebels at Mississippi State Bulldogs (Egg Bowl)

Now, that is a good-looking schedule. I have not seen a schedule lineup for the Mississippi State football team like that in a long time. It sort of makes up for all the hardship we had to face this season whenever we pulled the No. 1 team in the nation, the Georgia Bulldogs, as our SEC-East foe.

Look, I am not saying that Mississippi State has a chance to win a national championship, or make the playoff, or even win the SEC West, but I am saying that I see a possible route to ten wins next season. The Bulldogs will only go on the road for four away games. All of which are winnable games: South Carolina Gamecocks, Auburn Tigers, Texas A&M Aggies, and the Arkansas Razorbacks. The Bulldogs defeated three of those four teams this 2022 football season. Now, playing on the road in the SEC is always extremely difficult, but what if the Bulldogs could pull off some upsets at home vs. Alabama and/or LSU? Could they? Yes. Will they? We will see.
