The Mississippi State football team is back on the road for the first time since October 22nd. This time it’s vs. in-state rival, the Ole Miss Rebels. The Mississippi State football team is now 7-4 in the 2022 season and 3-4 in the SEC after defeating the Texas A&M Aggies, Arkansas Razorbacks, and Auburn Tigers. Today, the Mississippi State Bulldogs’ attention is focused on the Egg Bowl matchup vs. Ole Miss.

The Mississippi State Bulldogs look to go on the road and put points on the board. Mike Leach and the Mississippi State football team want to find the endzone early and often. This could be a challenge as the rain percentage has gone up 70% in Oxford, Mississippi.

This will be the 119th meeting between the Bulldogs and the Ole Miss Rebels. 1901 was the year these two teams started things. They have hated each other ever since. Expect this year’s game to be full of hatred, excitement, and exhilaration.

The Ole Miss Rebels are 8-3 with wins over Troy, Central Arkansas, Georgia Tech, Tulsa, Kentucky, Vanderbilt, Auburn, and Texas A&M. The best win on Ole Miss’ schedule is Kentucky at the moment. The Rebels started the season with an easy slate of games and found themselves at 7-0 before getting to their last five games.

The Ole Miss Rebels have losses against the LSU Tigers, the Alabama Crimson Tide, and the Arkansas Razorbacks. The LSU Tigers were the first to defeat the Rebels in a 45-20 victory in Death Valley. The Rebels’ most recent loss comes against the Arkansas Razorbacks where the Rebels put up over 700 yards of offense and still managed to lose. The only game Ole Miss has lost at Vaught-Hemingway stadium was against the Alabama Crimson Tide.
