To learn more about Mississippi State football’s matchup vs. Ole Miss, I caught up with @RebsToday.

Hey, I’m RebsToday. I started this Ole Miss “fan page” account in December of last year. I didn’t expect it to become what it has become but I am glad it has become what it is. I post Ole Miss news, and occasionally troll people. I’m from the state of Mississippi so the Egg Bowl is an absolute classic tradition that our state looks forward to every year, and I’m stoked for this year.

Hotty Toddy!

Let’s kick things off hot. How are you feeling about the Lane Kiffin situation?

I personally think Lane is gone. I’ve thought that since the Saturday of the Arkansas game. It’s an intriguing situation for sure, and I’m stoked to see who Ole Miss goes after should Kiffin head to the plains.

Who is an offensive weapon for the Rebels that State fans may not recognize on Thursday?

An offensive weapon that State might not recognize Thursday is wide receiver, Dayton Wade. He’s really stood out in the last few games and has been used in a few different ways. Definitely would keep an eye on him.

Why does Ole Miss have an identity problem choosing mascots?

Ahh. The mascots. Ever since Colonel Reb got taken away, Ole Miss cannot figure out the mascot. In my opinion, they should have kept the bear. The Landshark was a cool idea with the story behind it, but it was awful execution.

What are your thoughts on Jackson Dart’s performance in his first year at Ole Miss?

I think Jaxson Dart has been awesome. He’s got tons of room to improve and grow, but for a kid who’s been here since February, his growth and toughness are something the fanbase has embraced.

Why are you, and those that wear powder blue, the way that you are?

Why are Ole Miss fans the way they are? It’s a question that gets asked a lot, and rightfully so. I think it’s simply just how passionate they are. They are very defensive of the school and its sports teams.

Quinshon Judkins obviously has the hot hand right now. Do expect Lane to utilize Zach Evans just as much on Thursday?

I would think Zach Evans gets utilized a good bit Thursday. Quinshon has been nothing but unreal, but the offense is a different breed when Zach is on the field too.

These two teams obviously don’t like each other. What should be the percentage of a fight breaking out in Oxford?

The hatred. The rivalry. These teams no doubt hate each other, but with Lane and Leach at the helm (for now), I don’t see anything breaking out. And if it did, it wouldn’t be too serious.

Who do you expect to have a big game on the defensive side of the ball?

On the defensive side of the ball, I personally am looking for Otis Reese to have a big night. It’ll be his last go around in Red and Blue and I’d expect he wants to end it on a high note.

Do you have a favorite Egg Bowl?

Favorite Egg Bowl? Hmm. That one is tough. For me personally, it’s 2012. I was really getting into Ole Miss football at the time and was an absolutely huge Donte Moncrief fan, and he had an absolutely great game that night hauling in 3 TDs.

Score prediction and analysis of what happens during Thursday night’s Egg Bowl.

Score prediction for Thursday’s matchup. This is always tough. It’s the Egg Bowl. Anything can and will happen. The weather looks to be rainy and cold, it’s in Oxford. I look for Ole Miss to pull out a victory with a score of 31-21. Ole Miss will run heavy and I think it will succeed, but don’t count out Will Rodgers and the air raid.
