The Mississippi State football team is back home in Davis Wade Stadium to face off against the Tigers of Auburn. The Mississippi State football team is now 2-3 in the SEC after losing to the LSU Tigers, the Kentucky Wildcats, and the Alabama Crimson Tide. Today, the Mississippi State Bulldogs’ attention is focused on the Auburn Tigers.

The Mississippi State Bulldogs look to bounce back after two straight SEC road losses and a bye week. Mike Leach expects his offense to get moving back at home today.

This will be the 96th meeting between the Bulldogs and the Tigers. Mike Leach is 1-1 vs. the Auburn Tigers in his tenure at Mississippi State.

Last year, the Mississippi State Bulldogs and the Auburn Tigers faced off in Auburn, Alabama at Jordan-Hare Stadium. The Bulldogs were completely dominated by the Tigers in the first half. At one point in last year’s game, Auburn was up 28-3 (the cursed score), but the Bulldogs scored a touchdown right before the half. After that, it was all Bulldogs, 43-34. Will Rogers finished last year’s game with 415 yards and 6 touchdowns. Today’s game will be played at Davis Wade Stadium in Starkville, Mississippi.

The Auburn Tigers are 3-5 with wins versus Mercer, San Jose State, and Missouri. The Tigers’ chances of going to a bowl game are slim if they can’t pull out a win in Starkville, Mississippi today.

The Auburn Tigers have losses against Penn State, LSU, Georgia, Ole Miss, and Arkansas. The Tigers will be going after some momentum after firing head coach, Bryan Harsin, this week. The Bulldogs look to put an end to any chances of the Tigers making a bowl game this season.
