Mississippi State football is back home to take on the Auburn Tigers this Saturday night. The game will kick off at 6:30 p.m. CT at Davis Wade Stadium in Starkville, Mississippi. The Bulldogs come into this game 5-3, and the Tigers at 3-5.

To learn even more about the Auburn Tigers, I caught up with War Blogle from warblogle.com.

How does one Blogle?

With reckless abandon. No care of the response or reaction. Knowing he’s right at all times and nothing can sway him.

Do you have more eagles or tigers in your house?

I have one stuffed Tiger I found on the side of the road years ago. No eagles (inside the house).

Who is Auburn’s most valuable offensive player (can’t be Tank Bigsby)?

Robby Ashford is young and is still getting the hang of this thing, but he has a canon and can fly. He just needs a second to be able to do those things. He’s also possibly one of the best baseball players on campus.

Who is Auburn’s most valuable defensive player?

Derick Hall, for his leadership, his tenacity, and his uncanny resemblance to Takeo Spikes.

Auburn has shown spurts of really good football this season, even during losses. What/who do you attribute that to?

Auburn has talent and the coaching was not terrible. They have some really good assistants. I attribute every bad thing to the offensive line. The defense has faltered as the season has gone on but it’s due to being worn down by the offense’s 3-and-outs.

What are your thoughts on your new athletic director (wink wink)?

I like baseball. He’s a baseball guy. He’s been around it and done it a while in the SEC, so he brings in lots of experience in leadership. I don’t really care about ADs too much, but I’m good with him taking over.

Who do you expect to have a big game on Saturday that we may not be ready for?

Freshman wide receiver Camden Brown showed up in the 2nd half of the Arkansas game with two or three great catches, including a one-handed touchdown catch. If Robby Ashford is given a little time to throw it up to him, he proved he can go get it.

Give me your score prediction and analysis of what happens on Saturday night between the Bulldogs and Tigers.

Auburn’s run game has actually opened up the last two games. Tank has found holes and made the defenses pay. If that happens, it can exploit the State defense’s weakness. Auburn’s defense has been really bad at tackling the last few games, but the pass defense is still up there amongst the top of the SEC. Given that is State’s strength, it will likely come down to how many phantom pass interference calls will go against the Tigers.

I don’t pick Auburn to lose. Many points will be scored. Auburn 38, Miss State 35.
