The 2022 Mississippi State football team hosts the Auburn Tigers Saturday night at 6:30 p.m. CT/7:30 p.m. ET. Mississippi State football looks to bounce back after two straight SEC road losses and a bye week. Who are the people that could stop them from bouncing back? I’m glad you asked.

Tank Bigsby

The obvious first choice is running back, Tank Bigsby. Bigsby has been the Tigers’ main playmaker this season and in previous seasons. Expect Tank to receive loads of carries on Saturday night vs. the Bulldogs. I think stopping Tank Bigsby is Mississippi State’s most imporant key to victory.

Derrick Hall

As some have mentioned, Derrick Hall is the leader of this Auburn defense. The Mississippi native, Derrick Hall, has some serious talent and provides the Auburn Tigers’ defense with exceptional leadership qualities. I imagine the Hall will be all over the field on Saturday, but it’s important that Mississippi State’s offensive line prepares for what he might bring.

Robby Ashford

Third-string quarterback, Robby Ashford, has stepped in as the starting quarterback for the Auburn offense. He is the type of guy that can make plays with his arm and his legs. Last week vs. Arkansas, Ashford was the Tigers’ leading passer and rusher. The Mississippi State defense has struggled at times with quarterbacks who can create plays with their legs.

Colby Wooden

Defensive end, Colby Wooden led the Auburn defense in tackles last week vs. the Arkansas Razorbacks. Expect the Tiger defense to send Wooden after Rogers in key situations on Saturday. Like Derrick Hall, the Mississippi State offensive line must be prepared for an edge rush from Colby Wooden.

Camden Brown

Freshmen wide receiver, Camden Brown has begun to make a name for himself. Brown led the Tigers in receptions and yards with 4 receptions for 83 yards. I expect Camden to be Robby Ashford’s main target on Saturday night in Davis Wade Stadium.
