The Mississippi State Bulldogs were back on the road this past weekend and faced off against SEC West foe, the Alabama Crimson Tide. The Mississippi State football team was handled by the Crimson Tide on Saturday night in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The Bulldogs were defeated by the Wildcats 30-6.

The Mississippi State football team looked as if they had come ready to play on the second drive of the game when the Bulldogs marched into Alabama territory, but that was quickly shut down after Jaden Walley dropped a 4th down conversion. That seemed to be the story of the night for the Bulldogs. Dropped balls, no momentum, and a bit of timidness in Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Will Rogers threw the ball 60 times and completed half of those attempts for 231 yards through the air. Woody Marks started strong and finished with a rushing touchdown in Tuscaloosa, the first one since 2014. All in all, it wasn’t the worst performance I’ve seen from Mike Leach’s Bulldogs, but it’s frustrating to know they had opportunities to be in this game in the fourth quarter if the offense had executed.

In this week’s episode of ‘Cowbell Off Campus,’ Landon Young discusses all the statistics from last week’s game vs. the Alabama Crimson Tide. I finish the podcast by sharing all of my in-game notes.

The Mississippi State Bulldogs have a bye week this week, and it seems as if this team needs it. The Mississippi State football team will be back at home on November 5th to face off against the Auburn Tigers. On Monday it was announced that this game would be the first home night game in Davis Wade Stadium since the Bulldogs faced off against the Memphis Tigers in the first game of the season. The Bulldogs look to get back on track vs. the Auburn Tigers as they only have four games remaining on this year’s Mississippi State football schedule.
