The Mississippi State Bulldogs are headed to Tuscaloosa, Alabama this weekend to face off against the Alabama Crimson Tide. The Mississippi State football team is now 2-2 in the SEC after losing to the Kentucky Wildcats in Lexington last Saturday. The Bulldogs lost to the Wildcats by a score of 27-17. Today, the Mississippi State Bulldogs’ attention is focused on the Crimson Tide.

The Mississippi State Bulldogs look to bounce back after what took place last Saturday vs. the Wildcats giving up 478 total yards of offense. Mike Leach’s offense couldn’t get much going last week either when the Bulldogs only scored one offensive touchdown.

This will be the 107th meeting between the Bulldogs and the Crimson Tide. Mike Leach is 0-2 vs. the Alabama Crimson Tide in his tenure at Mississippi State. Last year, when the Mississippi State Bulldogs and the Alabama Crimson Tide faced off, the Bulldogs were completely dominated by the Tide when Bryce Young led the team to a win of 49-9 at Davis Wade Stadium in Starkville, Mississippi. Today’s game will be played at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

The Alabama Crimson Tide are 6-1 with a loss against the Tennessee Volunteers. Last week’s game vs. the Volunteers was one for the ages. The Vols defeated the Crimson Tide with a game-winning field goal as time expired to make it 52-49. Alabama has not allowed more than 50 points since 1907.

The Crimson Tide defeated the Texas Longhorns in the second week of the college football season. This looks like it could be the Tide’s biggest win of the 2022 season. One could argue that the win over Jimbo Fisher and the Texas A&M Aggies was their biggest win of the season as well.
