The Mississippi State Bulldogs take on the Kentucky Wildcats this Saturday night at 6:30 p.m. CT. The 2022 Mississippi State football team looks to carry over its momentum going this weekend vs. the Wildcats. Who are the people that could stop them? I’m glad you asked.

Will Levis (Quarterback)

Will Levis has practiced this week with the Kentucky football team and they expect him to play on Saturday night. That said, Will Levis is the most valuable player on the 2022 Kentucky Wildcats football team. Last week vs. South Carolina proved that the Wildcats wouldn’t have much offensive production without him. The Mississippi State defense needs to sack Levis early and often to prevent offensive production from Levis and the Wildcats.

DeAndre Square (Inside Linebacker)

The linebacker position is arguably the best position group on the 2022 Kentucky football team. DeAndre Square leads that defense and that position group. Square leads the team in total tackles (41) and solo tackles (21). Will Rogers and the Mississippi State offensive line need to be alert for DeAndre Square on Saturday night.

Chris Rodriguez (Running Back)

With Will Levis being out last Saturday vs. the South Carolina Gamecocks, Chris Rodriguez is who the Wildcat offense turned to. Rodriguez had 22 carries for 126 yards, but he finished the game with 0 touchdowns. Expect Mark Stoops and the Wildcat offense to balance the offense with some handoffs to Rodriguez before Levis tries to throw one deep.

J.J. Weaver (Outside Linebacker)

J.J. Weaver is the guy beside DeAndre Square. Weaver doesn’t have the stats that Square does, but his presence is what will be known on Saturday night. Weaver is 6’5 242 pounds, and quarterbacks have to be on the lookout for his blitz attack and his quarterback spy.

Tayvion Robinson (Wide Receiver)

Tayvion Robinson leads the Kentucky Wildcat offense in receiving yards (392) and touchdowns (3). Robinson is probably Will Levis’s favorite target amongst the Wildcat receiving group. He is a red zone target and expect Emmanuel Forbes to be the one designated to guard him on Saturday night.
