The Mississippi State Bulldogs take on the Arkansas Razorbacks today at 11:00 a.m. CT/12:00 p.m. ET. The Mississippi State football team is back home in Starkville, Mississippi. The matchup between the Bulldogs and the Razorbacks will be played at Davis Wade Stadium in Starkville, Mississippi.
Here are some notes that you need to know before watching today’s game:
Arkansas is 1-2 in SEC play.
The Arkansas Razorbacks found their first SEC win of the season in week two of college football versus the South Carolina Gamecocks, 44-30. Since week 6, the Razorbacks have struggled with losses to Texas A&M and Alabama. Sam Pittman and the Arkansas Razorbacks are in desperate need of an SEC win today, and the Bulldogs look to keep their SEC win streak alive.
Mississippi State looks to carry over the defensive momentum.
The Mississippi State Bulldogs’ defense forced 4 turnovers last week vs. the Texas A&M Aggies with 2 interceptions and 2 fumble recoveries. On top of the 4 turnovers, the defense also blocked a field goal and returned it for a touchdown. The Mississippi State defense is hot right now, and they expect to carry that momentum into today’s game vs. the Razorbacks.
Mike Leach has yet to defeat the Razorbacks.
Oddly enough, Mike Leach has not defeated the Arkansas Razorbacks in his tenure at Mississippi State. In 2020, the Razorbacks seemed to set a blueprint for dropping eight and rushing three, but Will Rogers had not stepped in as quarterback yet. In 2021, the Bulldogs missed a field goal to send the game to overtime and lost 31-28. Mike Leach and the Bulldogs look to change that today.
