The Mississippi State Bulldogs take on the LSU Tigers tonight at 5:00 p.m. CT/6:00 p.m. ET. Yes, Bulldog fans this is a night game in Death Valley. Don’t let that scare you. Just start to dream about everything that happened when the 2014 Mississippi State football team played a night game in Death Valley.

Mississippi State is coming off a great road test win vs. the Arizona Wildcats last week, 39-17. The Bulldogs played well in its season-opening road game. One thing the Bulldogs did well for the second week in a row was staying clear of penalties. The Mississippi State Bulldogs hope to carry that momentum over to Tiger Stadium tonight in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

The LSU Tigers opened up the 2022 season with a loss to the Florida State Seminoles, 24-23. The Tigers lost to the Seminoles, 24-23 due to a missed extra point to send the game to OT. This year’s LSU football team did not look as great as many anticipated during that first game of the season. Mississippi State looks to capitalize on those mistakes tonight.

These two teams are very different in the fact that one has lots of young talent all over the field and another comes in with experience and leaders. I think the difference in tonight’s game will be on the offensive side of the ball with big plays. I expect Mississippi State’s defense to have prepared to stop the young and extremely talented receiver group that LSU plans to use.

You might be asking yourself, “How can I watch today’s Mississippi State game?” I have great news. Every week, there will be an article solely dedicated to giving you the links to the Mississippi State game of the week.

Prediction: Mississippi State struggles to find a rhythm early, but finds it towards the end of the second quarter. I expect them to take that momentum over into the second half. It’s never easy to win at Death Valley. The Bulldogs win in a close one. Final score: 32-24.
