The Mississippi State Bulldogs went on the road this past weekend and won a big road test vs. the Arizona Wildcats, 39-17. Will Rogers and company put up 426 total yards of offense with 320 passing yards and 106 rushing yards. It was important for the Bulldogs to win this game and head to Louisiana 2-0.
The Mississippi State Bulldogs are on the road once again. The Mississippi State football team heads to Baton Rouge, Louisiana this Saturday night to take on the Tigers of LSU. Mississippi State opens up as a 2-point favorite. The game will be played at 5:00 p.m. at Tiger Stadium.
Last year’s game vs. the Tigers finished with the Bulldogs coming up just short. The final score was 28-25. The Bulldogs made a last-minute effort in the fourth quarter by scoring 15 points, but that just wasn’t enough due to the two turnovers the Bulldogs gave away.
This year, the Mississippi State football team comes back a bit more experienced. The Mississippi State football team and fans feel as if this is a game on the schedule that the Bulldogs can win. Will Rogers has never been the starting quarterback when traveling to Death Valley, but he was there whenever KJ Costello threw for over 600 yards in Leach’s first-ever SEC game.
The LSU Tigers are coming off a dominating home win vs. Southern, 65-14. Although that game may not tell us much about this year’s LSU team, the Tigers did face ACC opponent, Florida State, during week one of college football. The final score vs. the Seminoles was 24-23. The Tigers came up just short with a missed extra point.
In this week’s episode of ‘Cowbell Off Campus,’ Landon Young and Addison Thigpen discuss what went right and what went wrong in last week’s game vs. the Arizona Wildcats. They then turn their attention to the LSU Tigers and look at what Mississippi State needs to do to win their first SEC game of the 2022 season.
