Mississippi State Bulldog fans, I’m here to give you five things you need to know about the Arizona Wildcats before the Mississippi State football team takes the field on Saturday. These five things are things you should take into account when making predictions, bets, or just watching the game on Saturday.

1. The 2021 Arizona football team went 1-11.

Yes, you read that correctly, 1-11. The 2021 Arizona Wildcats defeated the California Golden Bears last year, 10-3, and that was their only win of the season.

2. Arizona matched its win total from last year last week.

The Wildcats opened up the 2022 season last week with a win vs. the San Diego State Aztecs. That win already tied their win total from just a year ago. This is certainly a momentum booster and exciting for Arizona football fans.

3. The 2022 Arizona football team is different than last year.

Arizona ranks #27 in the nation for the number of transfers they received from the transfer portal according to 247sports.com. One of the biggest additions to their team was transfer quarterback Jayden de Laura.

4. Arizona’s QB had a really good day last week.

Jayden de Laura transferred from the Washington State Cougars in January of this year. Last week vs. San Diego State, de Laura threw the ball 35 times for 299 yards and 4 TDs. That’s pretty impressive considering the Wildcats averaged 226 yards passing last year.

5. San Diego State threw the ball 16 times last week vs. Arizona’s defense.

Mississippi State is different than San Diego State in many ways. One of the ways is Mississippi State’s offense threw the ball 49 times last week vs. the Memphis Tigers. San Diego State only threw the ball 16 times last week in their loss vs. the Wildcats. The Aztecs did run the ball 41 times, and Mississippi State ran the ball 34 times (including sacks and quarterback scrambles). Arizona will be facing a much different football team come Saturday night.
