The Mississippi State softball team has released its brand new 2019 schedule. Here’s a glimpse of what the upcoming softball season looks like.

Vann Stuedeman has guided the Mississippi State softball team to a consistent level of success during her tenure. Now, heading into this season (which could be a more challenging one) State and Stuedeman are hoping to see even more success.

How do we know that this year might be tough?

Well, the MSU athletics department unveiled the upcoming Mississippi State softball schedule and it looks fairly challenging.

The Bulldogs have made it to six NCAA Regionals in seven seasons under her lead, a more successful stretch than at any other point in Mississippi State softball program history. With Stuedeman at the helm, the Bulldogs are succeeding like never before.

MSU will face a tough challenge in trying to make it back to a Regional again this season, but it won’t be impossible.

There’s a few different interesting aspects about this Mississippi State softball schedule. The first being that the Bulldogs will face off in several non-conference tournaments with a few actually happening in Starkville.

This is fairly customary, but it’s still interesting to see where all the Bulldogs will play in tournaments before the SEC schedule starts.

Here’s those tournaments:

  • The Bulldog Kickoff Classic tournament in Starkville
    • Valparaiso 2/8/19
    • Stephen F. Austin 2/8/19
    • Middle Tennessee 2/9/19
    • 1 vs. 4/ 2 vs. 3
    • Consolation/Championship
  • Puerto Vallarta College Challenge (Puerto Vallarta, Mexico)
    • Southern Illinois 2/14/19
    • Washington 2/14/19
    • Sacramento State 2/15/19
    • UCF 2/16/19
  • The Snowman (Alex Wilcox Memorial) in Starkville
    • Georgia Tech 2/22/19
    • Alcorn State 2/22/19
    • Southeastern Louisiana 2/23/19
    • 1 vs. 4/ 2 vs. 3
    • Consolation/Championship
  • Duke Invitational (Durhamn, North Carolina)
    • Ohio University 3/1/19
    • Duke 3/1/19
    • Kansas 3/2/19
    • Duke 3/2/19
  • Bulldog Slamboree in Starkville
    • Mississippi Valley State 3/8/19
    • Louisiana Tech 3/9/19
    • Mississippi Valley State 3/9/19
    • Louisiana Tech 3/10/19

There’s a few more non-conference games sprinkled in through there, but the tournaments themselves are notably more intriguing. After the Bulldog Slamboree, SEC play begins, and the Bulldogs will travel to Lexington, Kentucky.

From there, things get real difficult.
