No. 7 Mississippi State basketball is ready to get going in Starkville tomorrow afternoon for a huge conference game against the No. 16 Kentucky Wildcats.

Arguably the biggest games in the Southeastern Conference up to this point in the season is the game between the No. 7 Mississippi State basketball team and the No. 16 Kentucky Wildcats in Starkville on Sunday.

Sure, it’s early, but there’s two highly ranked foes ready to get started.

The Bulldogs and the Wildcats both have rather impressive teams so far. Here’s everything that you need to know about both as they come into this game:

How did Mississippi State get here?

The Mississippi State basketball team enters into this game with a 13-1 overall record and a 1-0 record in SEC play so far. The Bulldogs have throttled just about everyone that they’ve met up with so far except the No. 5 Oregon Ducks.

Vic Schaefer and his team are looking to claim another SEC championship this season. The Bulldogs won every conference game they played in during the regular season a year ago. Here’s to hoping that MSU can repeat that feat.

How did Kentucky get here?

The Wildcats come into this game with a very respectable 14-1 record overall record and, like Mississippi State, a 1-0 record in conference play. Kentucky’s only loss so far this season is to their rival, the Louisville Cardinals, by a total of five points.

Mississippi State will need to be cautious here as the Wildcats are certainly looking to make a name for themselves in The Hump with a huge upset win.
