The final game of the 2018 regular season for the Mississippi State football team is here as the Bulldogs are in Oxford, Mississippi for the 2018 Egg Bowl.

The Mississippi State football team is on the road to face the Ole Miss Rebels this evening. The Bulldogs and Rebels are meeting for the 115th time on the gridiron and are playing in the 91st Battle for the Golden Egg.

Both teams, more or less, are coming into this game after failing to live up to higher expectations. Mississippi State arrives in Oxford after not being able to live up to preseason hype and an incredibly high ceiling. This was a season in which the Bulldogs were supposed to compete for the SEC West, and they didn’t.

Ole Miss, on the other hand, wasn’t highly regarded coming into the year and for good reasons. But the Rebels got off to a pretty solid start this season and have now lost four games in a row and are a pretty big underdog in their own stadium. The Mississippi State football team can’t afford to lose to a team that is struggling like this.

How To Keep Up With The Game

The Mississippi State football team will have plenty of opportunities to get off to a hot start against Ole Miss. The Rebels have a porous defense that is prone to giving up big plays. Even though MSU has struggled to move the ball at times while on the road, the Bulldogs should be able to score fairly frequently in this game.

Add in the fact that the Mississippi State Bulldogs have one of the best defenses in the country and MSU fans should definitely feel pretty confident about the game. But this is still the Egg Bowl. Weird things could happen tonight.
