Nick Gibson Gives MSU Solid Depth

Nick Gibson didn’t get much playing time last season and he didn’t see the field much down the stretch of Mississippi State’s season. But, he does add to the running back corps in that he can give Williams and Hill a breather.

Gibson, mostly in mop up duty last season, ran for 239 yards on 45 carries. The 5-11, 210 pound junior from Alabama has waited patiently for playing time. And, should Joe Moorhead need him, Gibson can be a trustworthy option to spell other runners on this team.

With as physically demanding as the running back position is, it is wise to utilize multiple players to keep your backs fresh. Nick Gibson provides that opportunity should Mississippi State want to utilize that option.

The Bulldogs will need guys like Gibson to help out and wear down opponents. And, should anything happen to the guys in front of him, Mississippi State has depth available to prevent a massive drop off.
