The Mississippi State football team picked up a big commitment from the recruits on their official visits this weekend.
Dan Mullen and the rest of the Mississippi State football coaching staff hosted a number of recruits on the campus this weekend. They were hopeful it would be a productive weekend, and so far, the weekend has resulted in the flip of one high profile recruit.

It’s always good to add talent and depth to your roster, but it’s especially sweet getting a player who was at one time committed to Alabama. From what Robbie Faulk of 247 Sports was tweeting, the flip of Raekwon Davis has been in the works for a while.
Raekwon Davis to MSU has been brewing for over a year. Had him CB'd to flip in November '14. @DemetricDWarren was first in Oct. #CBpoints

There isn’t any word out if this will be the only commitment the Bulldogs pick up from this weekend yet. Despite the commitment from a top notch recruiting prospect, Mississippi State remains at 44th in the country for this recruiting class according to 247 Sports. But there are still some big targets for the Bulldogs to zero in on.
MSU's class is really dependent on the close. Davis is a good start. Simmons, Knott, Brown, Kobe Jones and Lashley still on the table.

There’s speculation Davis might be moving to the other side of the offensive line where the Mississippi State football team has its most glaring weakness. Steve Robertson added this on Twitter this morning.
I think he can play football for a long time as an offensive tackle. https://t.co/hOOyZ8mR5c

More bulldogs: Mississippi State Bulldogs 50 Greatest Atheletes
We’re a little over two weeks away from National Signing Day. The Bulldogs have 14 commitments so far, and they still have a lot of work to do. With a strong finish, the Mississippi State football team can climb out of the 40s in the recruiting rankings.
UPDATE: If you wonder why we don’t write a lot on recruiting commitments, this would be why. It now isn’t as clear if Davis actually committed.

Despite the report from the Alabama side of things, the people who cover Mississippi State recruiting still say Davis has committed to the Bulldogs.
Been told that Raekwon Davis IS committed to MSU. I'm sure there will be another report that says "nu uh". And so on and so forth.

+1. I'm being told the same thing but this whole thing is a mess. Happy Sunday! https://t.co/f82HwVWXcm

Did I mention National Signing Day is a little over two weeks away? If this story is any indication, it should be an interesting two weeks.
