Number 2: The Ole Miss Rebels

Ole Miss is going to have an interesting season. Look for them to enter their game against the Crimson Tide undefeated. The Rebels get the chance to play the Tide early, and they might be the team to give the Tide a loss. If that happens, The Rebels will jump into the top 10 and possibly the top 5. Who knows if they will, and despite the fact that this will be the Rebels’ best chance of beating Alabama in years, it will still be a tall order to accomplish. Because of their recruiting in recent years, the Rebels are getting a lot of preseason love. They will be good, but will they be so good that they don’t have to worry about being upset in Oxford on Thanksgiving weekend?

Upset Chance: 50% There is a reason the Rebels are the ones ranked in the preseason polls and the Bulldogs aren’t. The Rebels have accumulated quite a bit of talent. To go on top of that, recent history has shown that the home team almost always wins the Egg Bowl unless one team is significantly better than the other. So why am I giving the Bulldogs’ a flip of the coin chance in Oxford? Rebels’ fans that read this are going to roll their eyes at this, but I believe Dak Prescott is the difference in this game. That doesn’t mean Bo Wallace is a bad player, but I just think Dak Prescott will be better. He brings things to the table that are hard to quantify, and they were on full display against the Rebels in the 2013 Egg Bowl. The Egg Bowl is always a game that either team can win in my opinion and I see this year’s version of the game being the same way.
